A piece of NZ History, the former Fortrose teacher's house, built in 1938, sits now in our large sheltered farm garden, in total serenity.

Sleeps 2-6...Two bedrooms, spare beds, this house is full of  local history, good books, lots of paintings, period ceilings and native wood floors

Full kitchen and laundry, Yunca Woodburner AND Heat Pump. Comfy beds, electric blankets. TV, radio and CD player. Games, bike, trampoline, big lawn and patio.

Private access across the farm to the Southern Ocean with its Jurassic coast, birdlife, views of Stewart Island, a great place to build a summer bonfire on the sand and watch the sun go down.

Almost at southernmost point of South Island. Location handy for Catlins and for Invercargill / Bluff.

Capacity:  2-6
Capacity Details:  one double bedroom, one twin, and spare beds in lounge
Tariff:  $140 for two people, $180 for four, per night. We are happy to quote weekly rates out of season.
Availability:  All year
Restrictions:  No smoking. Pets by arrangement. Wheelchair access.
Amenities:  Fully furnished holiday home with all amenities. You just supply your food.
Activities:  Wild sea coast, penguins, sealions and Hector's dolphins, also the scene of NZ's worst civilian shipwreck at Waipapa Point, and the southernmost point of South Island at Slope Point. Jurassic Coast from Fortrose to Waikawa especially Curio Bay Fossil Forest. Two good eating places locally. Golf and fishing. Invercargill only 35 minutes.
